Some Stuff
23 September 2006 17:22I went to see the Suicide Girls burlesque show at Richards on Richards last night. Holy moses it was awesome. They pulled out all the stops. There was a good bit where three girls came out dressed as Paris Hilton, Britney Spears and I think Anna Nicole Smith but I'm not sure. A girl dressed as death came out and cut their throats and then stood behind them like a puppeteer and made them dance and take their clothes off.
They had a good little number with a Reservoir Dogs style set up. Hot cop tied to the chair and hot girl in shirt and tie torturing her. She even had a gasoline can filled with water.
There was a great number with six Suicide Stewardesses.
There was a solo bit with a hot therapist by an absurdly talented and flexible performer.
One girl did things that I didn't actually figure were possible with a hula hoop. It was crazy. She belonged in the olympic rhythmic gymnastic team.
The first solo act actually jumped up off of the stage and did some of her number clinging to the banister of the balcony. Unbelievable. The placed was rammed to the gills with mohawks and piercing and attitude. It was an awesome show. I have never seen it's like and I doubt I will again.
I hope they come again.
I love this picture. It's Jessica Lange and Alan Cumming from the movie version of Titus. I saw it the other day. Very lavish production but I prefer the version I saw down at the Jericho Arts Center featuring Anna Cummer. I don't like this picture for it's connection to the celebrities in it or the connection to Shakespeare. I like this picture merely because I think we've all been there. This is a really happy moment.
