Nice night

Remember me running in my underwear last year at the Chip Wilson's Not Dead Memorial Fundraiser last year? Good times. Well, this year, the multimedia company that's promoting it is doing it primarily through social media sites. Flickr, facebook, twitter, etc. They saw my photo from last year, emailed me and asked me if I'd like to participate in their presentation tonight at WorkSpace for the March 'Net Tuesday' on the subject of Remixing the Web for Social Change.

I hid in an alcove and when they got to my picture on the big screen, I dashed out wearing the same skimpy underwear and jogged in place for a while, much to the laughter and merriment of everyone in attendance. A hundred or so bloggers and social media types. The whole thing was being filmed and webcast so who knows, some of you probably saw it.

After that, I went to VFS and hosted the Tuesday Night Film School and presented the 1994 film Fresh starring Sean Nelson, Giancarlo Esposito, N'Bushe Wright and Samuel L Jackson. Fucking incredible film. Everyone who attended was blown away. I was very happy about that.

After that, I went to play pool with Rick, ending up bumping into Susie, and bowling two lanes over from Talib Kwali. Seriously.

Just finished watching the final final finale episode of Battlestar Galactica. Not only was it straight up nerdgasm bonertown, I bit back tears and felt like I was part of something important merely because I have a passing acquaintance with a few of the actors and I live in the city where it was filmed.

I am amazed that it was made and that it ended as successfully as it did. Everyone involved can die knowing that they created something meaningful and complex. I'm sure there are people out there who disagree but that's my opinion. I bought it hook, line, and sinker and I'm touched in the soul.

I'm really, really happy.
