In response Google created a black version of its search engine, called
Blackle, with the exact same functions as the white version, but obviously
with lower energy consumption:
Help spread the word… use www.blackle.com
and it looks cool.....
[EDIT: The search engine is not actually from Google. It's from a third party and has since been taken down or is receiving too many hits. Plus, it's under debate about whether or not black pixels use less energy that white pixels. : ( But it still looked cool.]
