So it was team slam win-two bout mayhem at a small restaurant in Oakland tonight. Two rooms, thirteen teams, three bouts. The math was crazy and to be honest, I'm not even sure if it finished. What I *do* know, though, is that once again I was moved to tears AND laughter by the amazing talent and committment to the art that was on display. I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's like going to a church for a religion that I *believe* in. These people say such important things and raise the bar so high and they look forward to this all year. It's breathtaking.
So Vancouver represented and came in second. Team Tourettes won that bout and team San Jose came in last mostly due to time violations. Or maybe I have that wrong. There might be another bout with Vancouver tomorrow but I'm not sure how all this math shakes out.
There are dozens of workshops and slams happening for the rest of the week. I'm looking forward to all of it.
