I’ve always wondered if electricity can form a groove in reality if it passes through the same route over and over again. Does this groove gets more cohesive as the time goes by? Does it becomes a pathway where the electrons present feel the need to go in that direction?

Kind of like if there’s a rainfall and the all the rain will find the path of least resistance and that path will usually be the fractal paths carved into the dirt from the last time it rained. Dry riverbeds that only need water to become rivers.

Invisible dormant lattices in the air that only need passing electricity to gain form again.

I’ve always wondered if our neural pathways work the same way. The electricity that fires in my brain and shoots down my arms to make my hands move will always find that same path, year in and year out, until I slip sideways out of this collection of meat. It will wear grooves in reality. There is a law that states that energy can neither be created nor destroyed but it can definitely be bound and controlled. I wonder if after traveling the same paths for all of my life, will my electrical pathways hover, invisible and given to the way of the magnetic wind, for years after my death? Is this a soul?

Ghosts in our machines.

If it is a soul or an aspect of it, I wonder about the souls of machines. I wonder about stunned questioning Tesla nets of curiousity that drift like cobwebs around us. I wonder if we’ll abandon our biology years from now and achieve our immortality through becoming machinery. I wonder if we’ll still use these bodies as meat suits but store ourselves on disc. I wonder if we will be able to literally save our souls. I wonder if the net, after coursing through the same circuits for decades, will stir and wake. I wonder if it will possess one of these electrical souls. I wonder if the onboard electronics of planes and cars will continue to live after physical destruction, surprised at their sudden lack of weight and noise but joyous at the sudden sense of control. I wonder if the complex AIs of the future will be able to hold together in a mobile quantum net that needs no hardware.

Electromagnetic spirits that don’t know they’re dead. Ghost cars peeking into our windows. Body and spirit. Hardware and software. Biology and intelligence. CPU and OS.

Wow, that woulda been an awesome thing to have in an episode of Reboot... Enzo wanders into an old fortuneteller's shop; maybe she's a pawn of Megabyte or maybe just messed up, but she's got a big board with "0" and "1" on it and she keeps wavering back and forth in a trance...

Oh yeah that would have been cool. I also love the idea of a robot fortune teller with a big 0 and a 1 on her board and her hands on the pointer start moving too fast for the eye too see once she gets going.
