Two great memes that go great together
All your snakes on your planes are belong to us.

I came up with an image today that I like. It symoblizes to me, anyway, the effect that happens to a damaged heart if it doesn't get fixed after a while. It grows tentacles, turns black and becomes some sort of chthulu monster.

Maybe it says something different to you.
The problem is this:

I can't decide if I like the one with the big crack down the middle or the little crack down the middle.

What do you think?

Okay.

I'm watching MuchMusic in the gym today out of the corner of my eye and I see some old, old clips of Chuck Berry and some clips of Diana Ross. All in black and white. It occured to me that aside from newspaper photographs of lynchings, those are the first large scale public images that I can think of with black people. First Elvis brought black music to the top of the charts and then black people themselves started doing it as well. Jazz was always tolerated but the new breed of music was making demands. The money they generated demanded respect. These people started to become symbols. Sammy Davis Jr. was allowed to stay in the white hotels in Vegas. Educated black women were loudly singing things to the man. The fight's still going but the imagery, the singing, and the tunes we hum are all still here.

I was reading the other day about how the Internet would still be just a bunch of loosely affiliated BBS's if it wasn't for porn. Porn busted in and got into people's houses. The demand for porn made the internet capable of playing movies and displaying images. It made the internet profitable. Everything that is accomplished on the internet that is not porn is only riding on the back of it.

So what I was thinking is this: loud rock and roll devil music gave us racial equality and porn gave us the internet. I've been thinking about that and what it means for the last half hour or so.

What do you think?
